On April 20, 2020, the City of Florence City Council will review and consider three ordinances concerning the following…

  • Ordinance No. 2, Series 2020 – An Ordinance adopting amendments to Florence City Code and the Florence Realization 2020 Comprehensive Plan and adopting the revised FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Map and Flood Insurance Study.
  • Ordinance No. 3, Series 2020 – An Ordinance approving the annexation of property within the urban growth boundary, 4781 Treewood Court, Assessor’s Map 18-12-15-22 Taxlot 05500.
  • Ordinance No. 4, Series 2020 – An Ordinance establishing Medium Density Residential Zoning district to 4781 Treewood Court, Assessor’s Map 18-12-15-22 Taxlot 05500.

Notice of Amended Public Hearing Processes due to COVID-19

Given recent executive orders from Governor Brown concerning COVID-19 and social distancing requirements, the protocols for providing public input for City Council meetings have been updated. Interested citizens who would like to view and listen to the City Council meeting may do so via live broadcast on Charter Cable Channel 191 or web broadcast HERE.

Those interested in providing testimony in a public hearing may do so via one of the following methods:

  • Written Testimony: It is STRONGLY encouraged that interested parties provide testimony in writing prior to the meeting in one of the following ways:
    • Submit written comments via email to City Recorder HERE
    • Mail written comments to Florence City Hall, Attn: City Council, 250 Hwy 101, Florence, OR 97439
    • Drop off written comments at the City of Florence drop box located at Florence City Hall (250 Hwy 101) to the right of the main entrance.

All written testimony received at least 2 hours prior to the Council meeting (April 20, 2020 at 3:30 p.m.) will be distributed to the City Council and made part of the record.

  • Conference Call: Should it be necessary to provide verbal testimony; it is recommended that interested parties participate via a conference call line. To do so please complete a speaker’s card available HERE at least 2 hours prior to the start of the meeting (April 20, 2020 at 3:30 p.m.). Speaker’s cards must indicate your desire to participate in the meeting via conference call and include the speaker’s name and phone number they seek to call into the meeting from. City staff will then contact the speaker to let them know the conference call line number and protocols.

If you do not have access to a phone or computer, the City will provide an opportunity to participate in the meeting at a specified location at Florence City Hall. Parties interested in attending in this manner must complete a speakers card online HERE or at Florence City Hall. Speaker’s cards are due at least 5 minutes prior to the meeting’s start time. To protect safety and ensure social distancing, space for in person speakers will be limited. Please note, that in person meeting attendance will be subject to applicable regulations in place at the time of the meeting, which are subject to change.
