I want to speak at a City Council meeting. What do I do?

Members of the public may address the City Council on matters within the jurisdiction of the City of Florence, regardless of whether or not the item appears on the meeting agenda. The City Council allows for public comments on items not listed on the agenda at the beginning of each City Council regular meeting.

To speak at a Council meeting, please fill out a Speaker's Card. Then attend the upcoming Council meeting and check in with City Recorder Lindsey White. The Mayor (presiding officer) will then call your name during the public comment portion of the applicable agenda item. When your name is called,  please step up to the public comment table, and state your name and your comments. Speakers are allocated three minutes in which to express their views on general agenda items and five minutes to express their views on public hearing items.
