U.S. 101 paving in Florence
Expect some delays traveling in the area

Travelers in Florence should expect some daytime delays the next several weeks as paving work is done on U.S. 101 and OR 126. These roadways are being paved following utility work in the area.

Pavement saw cutting and excavation of the temporary roadway trench patch will begin at Rhododendron Drive crossing of U.S 101 and along OR 126 during the day on Monday May 14th. Trench patch and inlay work will be done at Rhododendron Drive and 7th Street crossings of U.S. 101 during the day on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 15th and 16th. Side street work will be done on Thursday. Additional paving work will be done the following week, beginning May 21. Paving is scheduled to be completed before Memorial Day weekend.  All work is weather dependent.

The Florence Rhododendron Festival is May 17 – 20. While most work should be completed, everyone is reminded to be aware of crews in the area, and the possibility of rough patches in the roadway. Plan extra time into the trip and slow down in the work zone.

Work continues on the Siuslaw River Bridge, but they will not be on site during the Festival. The ReVision Florence project will begin with curb, driveway, and sidewalk enhancements in August.
