Road Rehabilitation Project

Summer 2019

The City of Florence Public Works Department is gearing up to move forward with a paving rehabilitation project along portions or complete segments of 10th and 11th Streets, 17th & 18th Streets (Highway 101 to Pine Street) and 23rd Street.

Well maintained streets are vital to getting community members and visitors from place to place, easily, safely and sustainably.  The City of Florence Public Works Department is responsible for 79.06 lane miles of streets that are used daily to get to work, school, appointments and day to day travel.  This entails maintaining all roadways within the city's jurisdiction limits and does not includes private streets, state routes or highways maintained by ODOT and roads maintained by Lane County.

Public Works employs a number of different pavement preservation and rehabilitation techniques including chip/fog seals, grind and inlays, crack seals and slurry seals.

The 2019 Road Rehabilitation project includes grind/inlay, complete section rebuild, and minor repairs to ADA ramps and curb gutter sections and is scheduled to begin in July and will be completed by the end of August.

Pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists are encouraged to use caution while navigating through project areas.
