Police Auxiliary Program

Members of the community who may want to volunteer some of their time and skills with the police department may apply to become part of the Florence Police Department Auxiliary. This team is a group of highly dedicated men and women. Auxiliary members assist the Police Department in a variety of ways; we attempt to match each individual's desired duties with their ability to perform those duties. This allows for areas of different contribution, without devaluing limited or restricted efforts. They are involved in handling patrol, parking issues, animal issues, vehicle tows, interdepartmental mail delivery, assisting in the communications center or general office duties, or directly involved in performing hourly checks in the jail or supervising an inmate work crew in the city.
