How to Apply for a Passport

Please note that while the City of Florence is not a Passport Acceptance Facility, we are often asked by community members where they can apply for their passport. This resource is meant to provide those who need it with guidance on where to begin the process of obtaining their passport.

If you are planning on traveling internationally this year, it's a great time to start thinking about applying for your passport! The USA.gov website offers instructions on how to apply for a passport, and how to renew one, as well as what items you will need to apply.

First things first: All applications must be done in person at a passport acceptance facility. To find your the nearest facility click on the link HERE. You will then be directed to a page that contains a search by ZIP code feature. 

After finding your nearest facility, you can follow the instructions on that page to get to the appointment scheduler on USPS.com (Florence's nearest passport acceptance facility is a Post Office). 

Once on USPS.com, you can schedule your appointment and see what services are available at that site. From there you will be able to see a series of available appointments and select the one that best fits your schedule.

Getting your passport doesn't have to be a hassle! By planning ahead, and utilizing the tools provided, you will be well on your way to experiencing the excitement of international travel.
