Population

Florence has 8,620 residents and counting. Since 2000, Florence's population has grown 18%. Including areas outside the city limits but within the urban growth boundary, the Florence area population is just over 10,000.

Location and Weather

Nestled between wild hills of the Coast Range, the picturesque Siuslaw River, and the awe-inspiring sweep of the Oregon Dunes, Florence is a coastal town with a wonderfully mild climate. In January, average temperatures range from 36°F - 51°F; in July, the average is 50°F - 69°F. 

Florence is conveniently located one hour west of the I-5 Corridor and Oregon's second largest metro-area (Eugene/Springfield). We're close enough for ease, but far enough to avoid the crowds!

Florence has three schools – Siuslaw Elementary, Middle, and High Schools. The Siuslaw School District serves Florence and surrounding areas.
