Violations Bureau Information
Florence Municipal Court Violation Bureau Information:
Do You:
- Have a good driving record?
- Desire a reduction in the presumptive fine amount?
- Want to receive a fine reduction without having to appear in court?
If you answered yes to these questions, you may want to know more about the Violation Bureau at the Florence Municipal Court.
- The Violation Bureau handles citations for traffic violations only. NOT traffic crimes.
- The Violation Bureau handles citations that do not involve an accident.
- If you have no moving violation convictions in any state within the past 36 months you may qualify for a reduction of the presumptive fine.
- You must appear in person, by phone, or by writing a letter to the Court at Florence Municipal Court, 900 Greenwood Street. Violation Bureau hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm. If you are unable to pay the presumptive fine in full, the Violation Bureau Clerk will setup a payment plan. A $25.00 payment plan fee is required to setup a payment plan. You may contact the Court at 541-997-3123 to utilize the Violation Bureau option over the phone using a MasterCard or Visa debit or credit card.
Please Note: To have your citation handled by the Violation Bureau, you must waive your right to appear in front of a Judge by entering a plea of Guilty or No Contest. You can enter a plea by filling out the back of the yellow copy of the citation.
The presumptive fine, which the Violation Bureau Clerk is required to impose, is equivalent to the fine that would ordinarily be imposed if you appeared in Court and plead Guilty, No Contest, or were found Guilty by the Judge.
You may also choose to enter a plea of Not Guilty and request a trial date where you will appear in front of the Judge to state your case along with the citing Officer.
