City Budget Committee Meeting

On May 8, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. the City Budget Committee will meet at the Florence Events Center, 715 Quince Street, to hear department presentations on the Proposed Budget.  The meeting will begin directly following the FURA Budget Committee meeting, which begins at 5:30 pm.  Public comment will be taken at this meeting.

Watching / Listening to the Meeting Live:

Interested citizens may attend in person or listen and view the meeting through the 'GoToWebinar' platform. Video link will be posted the Thursday of the week proceeding the meeting.

Providing Comments / Testimony:

Those wishing to express their views to the City Council may do so in the following ways:

1. Written Testimony: Citizens are encouraged to submit written comments since it allows the public body an opportunity to review and consider the remarks in advance of the public meeting. Written testimony may be submitted by:

Drop off at City of Florence City Hall during regular office hours (8am - 12pm, 1pm - 4pm Monday through Friday) or at the City of Florence drop box located to the right of the main entrance. ** NOTE: Written comments received at least 2 hours prior to the start of the meeting (May 8, 2023 at 3:30 p.m.), that concern a public hearing or action item on the agenda, or are designated as public comments to be provided for the meeting, will be distributed to the Budget Committee and made part of the record.

2. Verbal Comments / Testimony: In order to provide verbal comments / testimony, citizens are required to complete a speaker's card at least 1 hour prior to the start of the meeting (May 8 , 2023 at 4:30 p.m.). Speaker's cards are available online at https://www.ci.florence.or.us/bc-bc/request-address-budget-committee-speakers-card or by contacting Administrative Services Director, Anne Baker via email HERE, or via phone at 541-997-3436. Once a speaker's card is received, City Staff will contact the speaker to let them know the process to participate in the meeting. In order to be contacted, parties must complete the contact information in the speaker's card form.
