Notice of Public Hearing - Property Sales

Cottage Cluster Site Plan

On August 19, 2019, at its regular 5:30 PM meeting at Florence City Hall (250 Hwy 101, Florence, Oregon), the City of Florence City Council will hold a public hearing to hear testimony from interested persons about a proposed Option agreement for the sale of City property.  The property to be discussed is 1424 Airport Road.  The City is considering authorizing the City Manager to sign an option agreement to sell the vacant property zoned for multi-family uses. The City has no foreseeable use for the property.

The proposed property sales will allow the City of Florence to partner with the Neighborhood Economic Development Corporation (NEDCO), to establish an affordable housing project at the Old Senior Center site located at 1424 Airport Road. NEDCO has applied for a state grant to develop up to 12 modest 1, 2, or 3 bedroom homes on the site. For more information about the Airport Road Affordable Housing Project CLICK HERE.

The agenda for the meeting will be published on the City’s website the Thursday prior to the meeting HERE. Persons wishing to address the City Council need to complete a speaker’s card available online HERE, or at the meeting. Speaker’s cards are due at least five (5) minutes before the meeting. Comments on public hearing items will be limited to five (5) minutes per person. If you wish to submit comments in writing prior to the Council’s meeting on August 19th, you may submit them to City Recorder, 250 Highway 101, Florence, OR 97439, or via email.  For more information about this notice, or any Florence City Council proceedings, please contact City Recorder Kelli Weese at 541-997-3437, or via email.
