Note: As of June 2022, the CEDC has been on hiatus as the City of Florence focuses on the Housing Implementation Plan Project and the Florence Transportation System Plan Update. This group is not currently meeting.

The Community & Economic Development Committee (CEDC) strives to advise the Council and implement the provisions of the City Council goals and work plan related to community and economic development initiatives. The Community & Economic Development matters to be considered include, but are not limited to:

  • Economic Development
  • Housing
  • Parks and Recreation
  • Community Development

One of the first projects that the CEDC completed was the Florence Housing Code update. The CEDC served as the project's advisory committee and was responsible for providing feedback on proposed draft city code updates. For more information on CEDC's projects, please view the Committee's Work Plan approved by City Council

The CEDC consists of between 5 and 11 members, of which the majority must be residents of the City. The CEDC meets on the 3rd Thursday at 4:00 p.m.
