The Office Assistant in the Finance Department is the primary administrative interface with the public.  This position responds to public requests for information and distributes information as requested by processing public inquires and complaints, researching and assembling information, and communicating with the public regarding City programs, policies, and procedures.

Duties of the Office Assistant include:

  • Greet customers, visitors, city employees, and elected officials
  • Provide visitors with information, directions, or assistance as required
  • Answer incoming telephone calls providing information and assistance as needed
  • Accept and route applications for City of Florence business and special events licenses
  • Maintain utility account information
