Ursula is well know in Florence, and other coastal venues. She has shown in the FEC before, and her work never ceases to amaze!!
A statement from the artist:
“Before we, my husband Rudy and I moved to the Oregon coast in 1991 ,I was happy working on self taught pine needle baskets. Now , living so close to the Ocean I fell madly in love with bullwhip kelp. Soon basketry felt very structured , I began to have visions of using the beautiful aged kelp to work it into something lovely, flowing and that it would be the expression of myself.
For the past 18 years I have showed my work in many cities in the USA, also my work has been featured in a few magazines. Yes I am in love with kelp!”

Dreamscape is an expression and reflection of young imagination. This performance incorporates many elements of performance art, including poetry and live guitar, as well as dance and acting. With music of many genres, the Company dancers express a wide range of emotions through contemporary movement. This new creation promises to be inspiring and enriching to audiences of all ages. Pacific Arts Dance Company takes you on a journey through a child’s perspective, from the playground to the clouds in the sky, in Dreamscape.

The tumbling talents of Coastal Fitness gymnasts will come alive of the FEC stage on Wednesday, June 6 at 6:30 p.m. This year’s 17th annual show entitled Cirque—Our Style will showcase the skills and talents of Florence’s youth of all ages. Expect moments of whimsy and clowning around, tumbling routines filled with smiling kids and lots of musical fun. Presale tickets are available at Coastal Fitness and the Florence Events Center for advance purchase at $7 each. They will be $8 the night of the performance.
