Required Building Inspections

When calling for a Building, Plumbing, or Mechanical Inspections, please leave:

1. Date of Inspection
2. Permit Number
3. Type of Inspection
4. Your name, or the Name of Your Company
5. Your Phone Number, and or the Company or Client's Phone Number

* FOUNDATIONS: To be made after trenches are excavated, forms erected and steel is in place, but before concrete is poured. Property corner stakes must be visible to check for building location setbacks.

* CRAWL SPACE / FLOOR FRAME / POST & BEAMS: To be made after post & beams or floor joist are installed but before floor deck is in place. Ground vapor barrier to be installed. Any Underfloor Plumbing and Mechanical work should be completed and inspected at this time.

* ROUGH-IN: Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical inspections must be made by the authorized inspector. No work is to be concealed until these inspections and the Framing inspection have been made and approved.

* FRAMING: To be made after the framing, fire blocking, and bracing are in place, after all piping, chimneys, and vents are completed. But before Insulation is installed.

* INSULATION & VAPOR BARRIER: To be made after all Insulation & required vapor barriers are in place but before ANY covering is applied.

* MASONRY: (Walls, Fireplaces, etc.) Call prior to beginning work. Inspections will be made during the course of the work.

* WOOD, PELLET OR GAS STOVES: To be made after the installation is complete. Manufacture’s installation instructions to be on the job site for review during inspection. May be part of the framing inspection on a new building.

* SPECIAL INSPECTIONS: Special inspections are required in accordance with Section 306 of the State of Oregon Specialty Code (UBC). The special inspector is to be present on the job whenever work requiring this type of inspection is in progress. Submit special inspection reports the Building Inspector.

* OTHER INSPECTIONS: Other Inspections may be required in accordance with the 2008 Oregon Residential Specialty Code & 2007 Structural Specialty Code for Commercial Building Construction.

* FINAL INSPECTION: Final building, plumbing, mechanical inspections to be made after finish grading and all code regulated items or conditions of approval have been completed but BEFORE OCCUPANCY.
